My Approach

I will support you through the process of moving forward in a new and embodied way.  Using a holistic approach, I will integrate traditional therapeutic techniques with somatic work and mindfulness based strategies.  Somatically, I will help you become aware of body sensations and postures. An example of this may be to track where tension is held in your body or to notice the rhythm of your breath. Strategies such as these lead to the improvement of one's ability to emotionally regulate, help to decrease stress and are also useful towards increasing present awareness.

Marcie Beasley, LMFT

My method of practice comes from years of training in Transpersonal and Somatic Psychotherapy. I chose to study this type of therapy because I believe it truly tailors the therapeutic process to meet an individual  on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.

At the heart of my approach is my belief that the body, mind and spirit are not separate entities. Therefore the integrative therapeutic process I utilize is truly holistic. My approach considers all experiences and all aspects of a person through this lens.

You are equipped with everything you need to heal and grow. Therefore, I will act as your support and guide throughout the therapeutic process.  Together, we will find the path that is unique to you.

WHY THERAPY?

Therapy is a tool customizable for everyone. This is the type of work that will evolve as you evolve. It is a process to help you better understand and deal with struggles. There is no right one reason "why" you choose to go to therapy, and sometimes that uncertainty can be scary. That's where I step in, as a friendly, nonjudgmental guide on your journey to personal growth.

WHAT TO EXPECT

When working with me, you can expect to find a space that is completely free of judgment. I will act as a source of support and will be flexible to your needs. I truly believe in honoring the uniqueness of each individual and strive to create a safe space where exploration, learning and growing can occur.  At the same time, I will challenge you to take steps that elicit change and sometimes this will feel uncomfortable. I will offer encouragement and support during these moments so that you can achieve the transformation that is desired.
