Individual Therapy
I believe that each individual is their own best agent for personal growth and change. It is my responsibility to challenge you to think, feel, speak for yourself and interpret what you are getting from your work. This will allow you to be more proactive in your own therapeutic process. I will encourage you to track your emotional responses so that you can feel fully as well as mindfully and in turn, connect with the self. Out of this process you will begin to understand certain behaviors and thoughts/beliefs that may be negatively impacting you.
I will support you through the process of moving forward in a new and more embodied way. My approach is unique and addresses your issues from a holistic therapy perspective. This involves the integration of traditional therapeutic techniques with somatic work and a mindfulness based practice that supports healing of the mind, body and spirit. (Somatic work teaches you to become more aware of body sensations and to understand where tension is held in your body.) This aids emotional regulation which can lead to a decrease in anxiety and depressive symptoms. This can also increase one’s level of self-confidence.
Ultimately, the therapeutic process will be determined by you, the client. My role is to be present as a teacher and a guide, equipped with the tools and expertise that will support you and help you to learn.
